Purchased to embellish and noticed some reviews re: color. It’s a standard paisley design available in different color combos from various companies that I’ve owned previously, but I’ve only seen this particular color at HipStraps.
Looking at it online and in person I realize that different lighting conditions greatly affect the color perception. It seems less “Gold” and more rich ivory-ish with brick red accents; accents of stitching I expected to be golden are dull, not as metallic as hoped. What appears to be a rich brown in pics on site is more brick red in person. However, I was prepared for this by previous reviews and I feel I got what I was expecting, so it’s cool.
NOTE: I don’t think anyone’s trying to mislead anyone else, it’s just a trick of the light can create slightly different appearances when photographed.
Importantly, this strap is constructed of a genuine Jacquard ribbon with bound edges, not a strip cut from synthetic fabric with a hot-knife, so it’s smooth all around. Strap is lovely, well crafted and built to last with sturdy, genuine leather ends with reinforcing stitching all around.
